Building progressively, the curriculum covers key texts in Arabic Morphology (Sarf), Arabic Grammar (Nahw), practical language application (reading, writing, speaking), foundational Fiqh, and introduces students to English and Computer skills crucial for modern communication and learning. Course Description: The 5-Year Comprehensive Alimiyyah Program Welcome to the 5-Year Comprehensive Alimiyyah Program, an in-depth and rigorous journey into the classical Islamic sciences. This program is meticulously designed to provide students with a profound understanding of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent Islamic scholars, educators, and community leaders. Program Overview: The Alimiyyah program is a traditional curriculum that has been the cornerstone of Islamic scholarship for centuries. Our 5-year online program aims to deliver this rich educational experience with the flexibility of modern learning technology. Over the course of five years, students will systematically study the foundational and advanced texts in the core Islamic disciplines, building a strong foundation in Arabic language and mastering the methodologies of Islamic jurisprudence, Hadith analysis, and Quranic exegesis. Target Audience: This program is ideal for dedicated students who: Aspire to gain a deep and classical understanding of Islam. Wish to pursue roles as Imams, religious teachers, researchers, or Islamic advisors. Seek to read and understand classical Arabic religious texts in their original form. Are committed to a demanding and comprehensive course of study over five years. Program Structure: The 5-Year Alimiyyah Program is structured across ten semesters (two per year), progressively building knowledge and analytical skills. The curriculum follows a logical progression, starting with foundational subjects and moving towards more specialized and advanced studies. Core Subjects Covered Over 5 Years: The curriculum is comprehensive and includes, but is not limited to, the following key areas: Arabic Language and Literature: Intensive study of Classical Arabic Grammar (Nahw) and Morphology (Sarf). Development of reading, writing, and comprehension skills in classical Arabic texts. Study of Arabic Rhetoric (Balaghah) and Literature to appreciate the linguistic miraculousness of the Quran and the beauty of classical Arabic prose and poetry. Aqidah (Islamic Theology): Exploration of the core beliefs of Islam, including Tawhid (Oneness of Allah), Prophethood, the Divine Books, Angels, the Hereafter, and Divine Decree. Study of classical texts on Aqidah and discussions on theological concepts. Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): Detailed study of Islamic law according to one or more of the recognized schools of thought (madhahib). Coverage of rulings related to acts of worship (Ibadat), financial transactions (Mu’amalat), family law (Munakahat), and criminal law (Jinayat). Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence): Study of the sources of Islamic law (Quran, Sunnah, Ijma’, Qiyas). Understanding the methodologies used by scholars to derive rulings from the primary sources. Exploration of legal maxims and principles. Hadith and Usul al-Hadith (Principles of Hadith): Study of major Hadith collections (e.g., Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami’ al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan al-Nasa’i, Sunan Ibn Majah, Mishkat al-Masabih). Learning the science of Hadith criticism, authentication, and classification (Mustalah al-Hadith). Understanding the chain of narrators (Isnad) and the text of the Hadith (Matn). Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis) and Usul al-Tafsir (Principles of Quranic Exegesis): Study of classical works of Tafsir (e.g., Tafsir al-Jalalayn, portions of Tafsir Ibn Kathir). Understanding the principles and methodologies of interpreting the Holy Quran. Contextual and linguistic analysis of Quranic verses. Sirah (Prophetic Biography): Detailed study of the life, character, and mission of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Drawing lessons and guidance from the Prophet’s life for contemporary times. Islamic History: Study of the key periods and events in early Islamic history, including the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs and major Islamic empires. Mantiq (Logic): Introduction to the principles of logic and critical thinking as applied in Islamic scholarly tradition. Learning Methodology: The program utilizes a combination of pre-recorded video lectures, live online sessions for discussion and Q&A, assigned readings from classical texts, interactive forums, and regular assessments including quizzes, assignments, and examinations. Emphasis is placed on developing strong reading comprehension of Arabic texts and the ability to articulate Islamic concepts clearly and accurately. Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the 5-Year Alimiyyah Program, graduates will be able to: Read, understand, and analyze classical Arabic Islamic texts with proficiency.
